The story behind India Tiger Safari

India Tiger Safari was born from a profound, lifelong bond with India’s wilderness and an unwavering commitment to ensuring its most iconic landscapes and species thrive for generations to come.

My own story is rooted in the lush tea estates of Assam, where my father managed a plantation throughout my formative teenage years. Living amid that uniquely wild landscape meant that nature was not just a backdrop, but the very fabric of daily life. Herds of elephants passed the estate at dusk, rhinos grazed along the distant grasslands, and the rare, unforgettable traces of tigers in the surrounding forests were simply part of our reality.

These encounters, immediate, powerful, and utterly unfiltered, nurtured in me a deep, abiding respect for wildlife and an intense fascination with the intricate rhythms of the natural world.

Driven by this passion, my journey across India continued. I completed most of my schooling in Ajmer, a small town in the deserts of Rajasthan, before moving south to pursue my hospitality degree in Manipal. This diverse experience was later cemented by my relocation to Delhi to complete my MBA, giving me a broad understanding of the Indian subcontinent.

As I matured, this early connection evolved into a clear sense of purpose. Determined to contribute meaningfully to conservation in India, I went on to found TOFT Tigers, a wildlife not for profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible tourism and supporting tiger conservation across the subcontinent. Through this work, I collaborated closely with park authorities, world-class naturalists, local communities, and eco-lodges, gaining a granular understanding of the delicate interplay between wildlife protection, effective habitat management, and sustainable local livelihoods.

India Tiger Safari is the natural, authentic extension of that mission. It is a venture expertly designed to offer travellers an elevated, conservation-informed safari experience, shaped by authenticity, deep ecological understanding, and genuine, on-the-ground expertise.
